As a pioneer in the early stages of Japan’s motorization, Mr. William R. Gorham provided direction to help Japan on a path of mass-production and high precision technology. Conquering numerous difficulties, Gorham emigrated to Japan in 1918, and initially developed tricycles powered by engines. He also founded the Nissan Yokohama plant, and made an outstanding contribution to the growth of our automotive industry through his introduction of mass-production methods. In recognition of these great achievements, the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame is honored to induct Mr. William R. Gorham into the Hall of Fame.
