日本の自動車産業・自動車研究・自動車文化の諸活動に人生を捧げた多くの先 人に心からの敬意を表します。次代の若人に日本の自動車について伝承すること は、誠に意義深いことです。日本自動車殿堂の活動が、史実の継承にとどまらず 産業の新たな道創りや価値の創造をもたらすことに強く期待します。
時代は激しく動いています。予測を超える激動の時代に向かっています。産業 はもとより、学術や価値観の多様化、そして学際化、グローバル化への歩みが本 格化しています。次代を担う若き人々の新たな発想による「モノ創り・コト創り へのチャレンジ」が不可欠です。共に考え、共に歩み、そして何よりも活動の継 続が重要であると考えます。
日本自動車殿堂の益々のご発展を衷心より祈念いたします。

I would like to express my highest respect for the pioneers who devoted their life to the activi- ties for automotive manufacturing, automotive research and development as well as automotive culture of Japan. Handing down the history and Japan’s automotive culture to the next generation is absolutely meaningful. I earnestly hope that the activities of the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame will be not only tracking the historical facts, but also bringing a new wave and creating a new value to the industry.
The world is changing rapidly and facing turbulent times which goes beyond our expectations. We must accept and understand the diversi cation in both academic and personal values as well as the ones in industry, and the trends toward interdisciplinary and globalization. erefore, the challenging spirit for innovation in manufacturing and services by younger people is indispens- able. I believe that it is important for us to think together and advance together, and to continue the activities.
I sincerely pray for further development of the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame.
