自動車は十九世紀後半に欧州で誕生して以来、文明と産業発展の象徴的な存在として世界各国に広がり、社会と人々の生活に大きな影響を与えてきました。わが国における自動車の歴史、産業そして文化としてのあり方を考えるとき、自動車殿堂の活動はもはや必要欠くべからざるものとしてあります。自動車殿堂の益々の発展を祈念してやみません。

Automobiles, the existence as a symbol of civilization and progress of industry

Since automobiles were born late 19th century in Europe, they have been developed in various countries around the world as a symbol of the civilization and progress of the industry, and they have been being highly influential in the society and people’s way of living.

Learning our history of automobiles and considering how the industry and the culture of our country should be, I can say that the activity of the Japan Automobile Hall of Fame is absolutely essential.

I devoutly pray for further development of the Japan Automobile Hall of Fame.
