私は1960年米国赴任の際に、伝統あるダットサンブラ ンドの伸張と発展を鮎川義介氏と浅原源七氏に誓いま した。その後米国市場において多くのダットサン車を 販売し、日産自動車の存在を周知することができまし た。この当然すべき仕事に対して、米国の自動車殿堂 入りに続いて、日本の自動車業界において最高の栄誉 ある自動車殿堂入りを受けたことは、生涯自動車を愛 した私にとって光栄の至りであります。

When I left for the U.S. in 1960, I vowed to Messrs. Gisuke Ayukawa and Genshichi Asahara that I would expand and popu- larize the Datsun brand in the U.S. I was very fortunate that I could sell a great number of Datsun cars and rmly establish the presence of Nissan Motor Corporation in the market. It is my greatest honor to be inducted to the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame following the induction to the Automotive Hall of Fame of America for my achievements in this eld for which I devoted all of my life.
